Question

If median and mean of a distribution are 18.8 and 20.2 respectively, what would be its mode?

Open in App
Solution

Given,

Median (M)=18.8
Mean X = 20.2
Mode = Z

We know,
Z = 3 Median − 2 Mean

or, Z = 3 (18.8) − 2 (20.2)
or, Z = 56.4 − 40.4
Z = 16

Hence, mode (Z) of the above distribution is 16.
