If n arithmetic mean are inserted between 20 and 80 such that the ratio of first mean to the last mean is 1:3, then find the value of n

Let A1,A2,A3,...An be n arithmetic means between 20 and 80

And let d be the common difference between the terms of the A.P.
So,d=ban+1

=8020n+1=60n+1

Now, A1=20+d

=20+60n+1=20(n+4n+1)

And An=20+nd=20+60nn+1=20(4n+1n+1)

Thus, A1An=13(given)

20+d20+nd=13

20(n+4n+1)20(4n+1n+1)=13

n+44n+1=13

4n+1=3n+12

n=11

The value of n is 11
