If Nishu can swim downstream at 6km/h and upstream at 2km/h. What is his speed in still water?

Step 1: Given Data

Downstream speed =6km/h

Upstream speed =2km/h

Let the speed of the mas in still water be xkm/h.

Let the speed of the stream be ykm/h.

Step 2: Calculate the Required Speed

From the question we have,

x+y=61x-y=22

From equation 1 and 2 we get,

2x=8x=4

Hence, the speed of Nishu in still water is 4km/h.
