If OC is perpendicular to AB, and BC = 5 cm as shown in the figure, find the length of AB.

Solution

According to the question, we have

$O C ⊥ A B \Rightarrow A C = B C \dots (1)$

But, BC = 5 cm. … (2) [Given]

Since, AB = AC + BC

= 2BC

$= 2 \times 5$ [By (1) and (2)]

= 10 cm.
