Question

If one angle of parallelogram is 36 less than twice itsadjacent angle then, find the angles of a parallelogram.

Open in App
Solution

Let ABCD is a parallelogram. Let ADC=x.
Therefore,
DCB=2x36 [Given that one angle is 36 less than twice the adjacent angle.]
Now, we know that adjacent angles of a parallelogram are supplementary.
ADC+DCB=180
x+2x36=180
3x=216
x=2163=2=72
Hence, ADC=72 and DCB=×7236=108
Also, opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal ,therefore,

ABC=ADC=72 and BAD=DCB=108

Thus, the four angles of the parallelogram are 108,72,108,72.
