Question states that:-
If one of the root of the quadratic polynomial (k-1)x+kx+1=0 is -3. FInd the value of k.
As -3 is the root of the above equation, we need to substitute -3 in x from that we can find k
(k-1)x+kx+1=0
(k-1)(-3) + k(-3) + 1=0
-3k +3- 3k + 1=0
-6k + 4=0
k=2/3 is the required solution
