Solution

Given: Since x=2 is a root of the equation
2x2+kx6=0

2×22+2k6=08+2k6=02k+2=0k=1

Putting k=1 in the equation 2x2+kx6=0,

Now to find other root of given equation
2x2x6=02x24x+3x6=0

2x(x2)+3(x2)=0

(x2)(2x+3)=0x2=0,2x+3=0

x=2,x=32

Hence the other root is 32
