Thus, y = 23 satisfies the given equation.

Therefore,

3232 - k23 + 8 = 0 3×49 - 2k3 + 8 = 0 43 - 2k3 + 8 = 0 4-2k+243 = 0

On multiplying both sides by 3, we get:
4 – 2k + 24 = 0

–2k + 28 = 0

–2k = –28

k = -28-2 = 14
