Let the roots of the equation x2xk=0 be a,a2.
Then from the relation between the roots and coefficents we get,
a+a2=1 and a3=k.......(1).
or, a2+a1=0
or, a=1±52
Now a3=25.
From (1) we get,
k=2±5.
