If one side of a square is represented by 18x - 20 and the adjacent side is represented by 42 - 13x, find the length of the side of the square.

Given, one side of a square is represented by 18x - 20 and the adjacent side is represented by 42 - 13x.
We know that, all the sides of a square are always equal.
$\therefore 18x-20=42-13x\Rightarrow 18x+13x=42+20\Rightarrow 31x=62\Rightarrow x=\frac{62}{31}=2units.$
Hence, side of the square is $(18\times 2)-20=36-20=16units.$
