Question

If out of two given elements A and B, A has a higher ionization energy than B, Which element is expected to be more electronegative A or B?

Solution

More the ionisation energy, then more will be the electro-negativity. Because, more the ionisation energy, more the energy required to remove an electron from atom. Means the atom has high affinity towards electron. It pulls the electron toward it. It is electronegativity. 'A' has high electro negativity.
