Formation of a Quadratic Equation From It's Roots
If p and q ar...
Question
If p and q are zeroes of polynomial f(x)=2x²-7x+3 find the value of p
²+q²
Open in App
Solution
Given: f(x)=2x^2-7x+3
= 2x^2 - 6x -x +3
= 2x(x-3) -1(x-3)
=(2x-1)(x-3)
Hence, x=3 & x=1/2. 0r p=3 & q=1/2
Therefore, p^2 + q^2 = 3×3 + 1/2×1/2 = 9 + 1/4 = 37/4
