Exocytosis, is release of certain chemical substances like proteins, hormones, wastes etc by the cell into the extracellular matrix by forming vesicles that fuse with the plasma membrane to release the contents to the exterior of the cell. Substances like hormones and certain proteins are released to get appropriate response from the system.
