Question

If polynomial f(x)=x43x3x2+9x6 has two zeroes as 3,3 find all zeroes of the polynomial

Open in App
Solution

Since 3 and 3 are two zeroes of f(x).Therefore,
(x3)(x+3)=(x23) is a factor of f(x).
On dividing f(x) by x23 we get,

Quotient=x23x+2
Therefore x23x+2 is also the factor of f(x).
Then by factorizing it by middle term splitting we get,
x23x+2
=x22x1x+2
=x(x2)1(x2)
=(x2)(x1)
Therefore,
x=2 , or, x=1
Hence other two factors of f(x)=1,2
