The diagonals of a rectangle are equal and bisect each other.
∴SO = QOi.e. 7x − 2 = 5x + 16 ⇒2x = 18 ⇒x = 9∴ 7x − 2 = 7 × 9 − 2 = 63 − 2 = 61 cm
The length of the diagonal SQ = 2 × 61 cm = 122 cm
∴ The length of the diagonals SQ and PR is 122 cm.
