We know that the pressure exerted by a liquid is written as

now, let the pressure at the half depth of the lake be P1=P0+h1ρg

The pressure at the bottom of the lake is P2=P0+h2ρg

Here, P0 is the atmospheric pressure

so, as given

P1=(23)P2

or

P0+h1ρg=(23)(P0+h2ρg)

and h1=h22

so,
