If radius of the circumcircle of the triangle formed by the lines x2y2=0 and 2x3y=5 is a units, then value of a2 is

Open in App
Solution

Given pair of lines
x2y2=0
(xy)(x+y)=0
xy=0 (1)
and x+y=0 (2)
Also, 2x3y=5 (3)
Solving (1),(2) and (3), we get the vertices,
P(5,5),Q(1,1),O(0,0)

Clearly, OPOQ
So, OPQ is right angled triangle with PQ as the hypotenuse.
PQ will be the diameter of the circumcircle.
PQ=(51)2+(5+1)2=36+16=213
Radius =PQ2=2132=13=a
a2=13
