Question

If sin A+sin2 A=1 Then,(cos2 A+cos4 A)=?

Open in App
Solution

Given: sinA+sin2A=1

sinA=1sin2A

sinA=cos2A(i)

Using this in above equation
[sin2A+cos2A=1,so,cos2A=1sin2A]

Now, let's take, cos2A+cos4A

cos2A+cos4A

=cos2A+(cos2A)2

=sinA+sin2A [Using (i),sinA=cos2A]

=1 [Given,sinA+sin2A=1]

cos2A+cos4A=1
