sinα+sinβ=a and cosαcosβ=b

2sinα+β2.sinαβ2=a...(1)

and 2sinα+β2.sinαβ2=b...(2)

Dividing (2) by (1)

we get 2sinα+β2.sinαβ22sinα+β2.cosαβ2=ba

=tan(αβ2)=ba
