If smell of perfume is matter then why only smell is not matter?

Smell is not a matter, and the smell of perfume is also not a matter, but the liquid droplets of the perfume in air is matter.
When a droplet of perfume is inhaled by our nose cause a pleasant sensation in our nose, which causes smell.
But that sensation is not a matter, the matter is that droplet of perfume floating in air.
