If sulphur content is high what is the grading for coal? Choose the most appropriate.
Lowers the coal grade
The grading of coal is mostly carried out from moisture content and to some extent the sulphur. High quantity or percentage of sulphur in coal lowers the grading as the presence of sulphur in coal makes it quite acidic when used in blast furnace for steel reduction process. The production of sulphur di oxide and sulphites degrades the final ash quality as well.
