Question

If tanθ+cotθ=2, find sinθ.

Open in App
Solution

We write tanθ+cotθ as sinθcosθ+cosθsinθ, which is equal to
sin2θ+cos2θsinθcosθ
=1(sin2θ)/2, where sin2θ=2sinθcosθ
and we have
1(sin2θ)/2=2 which implies sin2θ=1 , θ=π4 and we have
sinθ=sin45=12
