Question

If tanθ=12 and tanϕ=13 then find the value of θ+ϕ.all angles are acute

Open in App
Solution

Given, tanθ=12......(1) and tanϕ=13......(2).
Now,
tan(θ+ϕ)

=tanθ+tanϕ1tanθ.tanϕ

=12+13112.13 [ Using (1) and (2)]

=5656 =1.

So, tan(θ+ϕ)=1

or, θ+ϕ=45o. [ Taking θ,ϕ to be acute]
