The correct option is D (a) and (c) above. Area of each small square = 1 × 1
= 1 sq. cm
Area covered by the red region on the map = 5 × 1 = 5 sq. cm
Area covered by the blue region on the map = 4 × 1 = 4 sq. cm
Difference between the areas covered on the map = 5 - 4 = 1 sq. cm
Actual difference in areas covered by the red and yellow region = 10000 sq. cm ∴ 1 sq. cm on map = 10000 sq. cm in reality which is 100 cm × 100 cm, which is 1 m × 1 m ( ∵ 100 cm = 1 m)
So, the scale used in the map is 1 cm = 1 m or 1 cm = 100 cm
