Area of a rectangle = $length\times breadth=L\times B$

$\therefore 36$ = $4B\times B$

$\Rightarrow \frac{36}{4}=B^2$

$\Rightarrow B^2=9cm$

$\Rightarrow B=(9{)}^{1/2}cm$

$\Rightarrow B=3cm$

Length= 4B = 4x3= 12 cm
