If the area of a trapezium is 28 $c m^{2}$ and one of its parallel sides is 6 cm,find the other parallel side if its altitude is 4 cm.

Area of a trapezium = 28 $c m^{2}$

Altitude (h)=4 cm

$∴ S u m o f p a r a l l e l s i d e s = \frac{A r e a \times 2}{h e i g h t} = \frac{28 \times 2}{4} = 14 c m O n e o f t h e p a r a l l e l s i d e = 6 c m ∴ S e c o n d p a r a l l e l s i d e = 14 - 6 = 8 c m$
