If the area of the given figure is 32 sq. cm, estimate the area covered by the green triangle in the given figure.

Number of small squares in the given figure = 16.
So, the area covered by each square = 32 ÷ 16
= 2 sq. cm

Region covered by the green triangle
Full squares = 2
More than half squares = 4
Less than half squares = 4

Area of the green triangle = 2 × 2 + 4 × 4 + 0
= 4 + 8
= 12 sq. cm
