Solution

The correct option is D 6,24
Let the two numbers be A and B.

Given: (A+B2)(AB)=54 ( AM and GM are in the ratio 5:4)

A+B=30 (Sum of the numbers is 30) ..................... (1)

Therefore, A+B2=15

15(AB)=54

(AB)=12

AB=144

B=144A

Putting this in (1),

A+144A=30

A230A+144=0

A224A6A+144=0

(A24)(A6)=0

A=24 or 6

and B=6 or 24

Thus, the two numbers are 6 and 24.
