Given, the average (arithmetic mean) of t and t+2 is x and the average of t and t2 is y

Then x=t+(t+1)2=2t+12

And y= y=t+(t1)2=2t12

Then average x and y= x+y2=2t+12+2t122=2t+1+2t12×2=4t4=t
