Endosperm is formed by the fertilization of the central cell of the embryo sac by male gamete. The central cell will have the same ploidy as that of the parent plant. (if the parent plant is diploid, the central cell will be diploid). Male gamete will have half ploidy as that of parent plant. So, when both fuse, the ploidy of endosperm cells will be 1.5 times that of the parent cell.
