Solution

The correct option is D 7
Coefficient of second,third and fourth terms in the expansion of
(1+x)n are nC1,nC2 and nC3

Since these are in A.P. 2nC2=nC1+nC3

2n!2!(n2)!=n!(n1)!1!+n!(n3)!3!

6(n1)!(n2)!=6(n1)!(n1)!+(n1)!(n3)!

6(n1)=6+(n1)(n2)=n23n+8

n29n+14=0

(n7)(n2)=0n=7,2 (but n3)

Hence n=7 is the answer
