Question

If the density of the planet is increased, then the acceleration due to gravity at its surface will _____________

Open in App
Solution

  1. As we know Acceleration due to gravity depends on the following parameters

g=GMR2.............1

Where G = Gravitational Constant

M = Mass of the Body

R = Radius of the Body

2. Also, M=ρV................(2)

Where ρ= Density

M= Mass of the Body

V= Volume

By putting the value of equation (2) in (1),

g=GρVR2

Thus, if the density of the planet will increase then its acceleration due to gravity will also increase.
