The correct option is B7 Let the ellipse be x2a2+y2b2=1. Given it passes through (2,1) ∴4a2+1b2=1 ...(1) or 4a2+1a2(1−1/4)=1(∵e=12) or 4+43=a2 or a2=163 ∴1b2=1−4a2=1−34=14 from (1) Hence required ellipse is, 3x216+y24=1 or 3x2+4y2=16
