The correct option is A 0.8 kg/sec
We know that
Force F=dpdt=d(mv)dt=vdmdt
when v is constant
Given: F=400 N;
v=500 m/sec.
We are required to calculate dmdt or rate of change of mass of the rocket.
In normal cases, force creates change in momentum. Here force is created due to change in momentum of the rocket by emission of fuel (a part of rocket).
So, dmdt=Fv=400500=0.8 kg/sec
