We know that,
λ=ln2halflife
so decay constant for α- decay =ln24
and decay constant for β- decay =ln212
So, total decay constant=ln24+ln212
λ=ln23
Also we know that,
R=Roeλt
after 12 years,
RRo=eln23×12
RRo=116
for converting in percentage multiply by 100 both side,
%R=116×100=6.25%
