Given:
Mass of m1 = m kg
Mass of m2 = 2m kg
Initial velocity (u1) of m1 = u ms1;
Initial velocity (u2) of m2 = 2u ms1
Final velocity (v2) of m2 = 0 ms1

Need to find:
Final velocity of m1 = v1 ms1

Initial momentum of the system:
m1u1+m2u2
mu+4mu=5mu
Final momentum of the system:
m1v1+m2v2
m1v1+m2(0)
mv1

So according to conservation of momentum;
Final momentum = Initial momenum
mv1 = 5mu
v1 = 5u ms1
