Initial velocity of m1 = v m/s;

Initial velocity of m2 = 2v m/s

mas of m1 = m kg

mass of m2 = 2m Kg

Initial momentum of the system= mv + 4mv = 5 mv

Final velocity of m1 = u m/s (Yet to be found)

Final velocity of m2 = 0 m/s

Final momentum = (2m x 0) + (m x u)

So according to conservation of momentum; mu = 5 mv

u = 5v m/s.
