Now, when length and breadth gets double.

The length and breadth becomes $2x$ and $2y$

$\Rightarrow$ Area of a rectangle $=2x\times 2y$

$=4xyc{m}^2$

$\Rightarrow$ Area of a rectangle$=4xyc{m}^2$ --- ( 2 )

Comparing ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) we can see,
