Solution

The correct option is D None of these
Let length of and breadth of a rectangle are xcm and ycm

Area of a rectangle =length×breadth
=xy

Area of a rectangle =xycm2 ---- ( 1 )

Now, when length and breadth gets double.

The length and breadth becomes 2x and 2y

Area of a rectangle =2x×2y
=4xycm2

Area of a rectangle=4xycm2 --- ( 2 )

Comparing ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) we can see,
If the length and the breadth of a rectangle are doubled then its area becomes 4 times.
