Open in App
Solution

Chord of circle = 16cm
Distance of it from centre = 6cm
We draw a perpendicular line to chord.
We know that, a perpendicular line drawn to chord, bisects (at pt. M). Consider centre of circle to be O & AB is diameter
AM=8cm
By pythagoras law, in ΔOMA,
OA2=OM2+AM2
OA2=62+82
OA2=100
OA=10cm
Radius of circle is 10cm
