If the length of a diagonal of a square is 8 cm then find the length of the side of the square.

Consider that the side of the square is xcm.

Since the diagonals form a RIght angled triangle , then by Pythagoras theorem,

x2+x2=82

2x2=64

x2=32

x=32

x=42

x=5.66cm
