Solution

If the materials used for constructing a building were good conductors, lightning can still strike the building. However, in the case of a lightning strike the inside of the building will be protected from damage. During lightning strike it is safe to stay inside cars as the passengers of the car are protected from lightning because of being shielded by the metallic frame of the car. In the same way, if the building was made of conducting material, the inside of the building will stay shielded. Thus, a lightning conductor need not be installed.
