As per the question, $\frac{2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + x + y}{6}$ = 5

$\Rightarrow \frac{20 + x + y}{6} = 5 \Rightarrow$ 20+(x+y)=30

$\Rightarrow$ x + y = 30 - 20 = 10

$∴$ x + y = 10
