If the number of stomata is 30 and epidermal cells are 120 per unit area of a leaf, then the stomatal index is

Stomata index is the percentage which the number of stomata forms to the total number of epidermal cells, each stomata being counted as one cell. Stomatal index can be calculated by using the following equation.
I = S/E+S ×100
Where I= stomatal index
S= no of stomata per unit area
E=no of epidermal cells in the same unit area
So putting values in the above equation, we get
I=30/150×100
I=20
