Open in App
Solution

We know that the measure of opposite sides in a rectangle are equal.
So, the measure of side opposite to 6 m will also be 6 m.

Perimeter of the rectangle = 6 + breadth + 6 + breadth
Given, Perimeter of the rectangle = 16 m
So, 6 + breadth + 6 + breadth = 16 m
12 + 2 × breadth = 16 m
But we know, 12 + 4 = 16 m
So,
2 × breadth = 4 m
2 × 2 = 4m
Therefore, breadth = 2 m

The breadth of the given rectangle is 2 m.
