Solution

The correct option is D

15

If the polynomial (2x + 3 ) is a factor of the polynomial

2x3 + 9x2 - x – b , then the remainder on division of the polynomial

2x3 + 9x2 - x – b by (2x + 3 ) is zero.

On long division , of the polynomial

2x3 + 9x2 - x – b by (2x + 3 ) ,the remainder is –b + 15

-b + 15 = 0

⇒ b = 15
