The correct option is D Rs. 4/- per kg
Let original price per kg =x.
Reduction =25%
New price per kg =x(125100)
=3x4
Now, for Rs100, let customer buy y kg of potatoes.
100= (initial price per kg) × (weight bought)
100=xy(i)
For the reduced cost,
100= (new price per kg) × (weight bought)
100=(3x4)(y+6.25)
But from eq (i) 100=xy
xy=3x4(y+6.25)
4y=3y+18.75
y=18.75
x=10018.75=100×1001875
Reduced price =3x4=34×100×1001875 per kg
=4 per kg
