Initial expense =xy
Let new consumption =a
new cost =x(1+30100)
=13x10
To keep expenditure same,
new expense = old (initial) expense.
13x10×a=xy
a=1013y
decrease in consumption =ya
=y1013y
=313y
% decrease =3y13y×100%
=313×100
=23.076%
