The correct option is D The sum of all the three numbers is 24.
Let the three numbers in A.P. be (ad),a,(a+d)
Given: (ad)a(a+d)=224
a(a2d2)=224 (1)

(a+d) is largest
a+d=7(ad)6a=8dd=3a4 (2)
Using equation (1),
a(a29a216)=2247a3=224×16a3=32×16=29a=23=8
Using equation (2),
d=3×84=6
Therefore, the required A.P. is 14,8,2 or 2,8,14

Hence, the smallest is 2 and sum of all three numbers is 24.
