Question

If the radius of a sphere is doubled, then what is the ratio of their volumes?

Open in App
Solution

Let the original radius be r
so the original volume = 43πr3
New radius = 2r
so, new volume = 43π(2r)3=43π(8r3)
Ratio = 43πr343π(8r3)=18
so ratio = 1:8
