Given that,
principal P and rateR are same for 2 years.

SI=PRT100=P×R×2100
CI=AP=P[(1+r100)T1]=P[(1+R100)21]
Given that,
CISI=1.2

P[(1+R100)21]=1.2×2×PR100

10000+R2+200R10000=24R+10001000

10000+R2+200R=240R+10000

R2=40R

R(R40)=0

R=40

Hence rate(R)=40

Option C is correct.
